About Us
Holy Trinity Nursery School is a purpose built Nursery and has been serving the community of Lisburn since 1981. The Nursery is subject to inspection by the Education and Training Inspectorate of the Department of Education (DENI Inspectorate) and is managed by a Board of Governors.
In Holy Trinity Nursery we recognise the parent as the first educator of children and want to establish a relationship of trust and confidence with you so that effective two-way communication can take place to help us help your child. We aim to harness children’s enthusiasm and sense of wonder and use this to extend the child’s knowledge and understanding of the world around them. We aim to provide a safe and challenging environment where the child is free to make choices and decisions.
Throughout the year we will keep you informed of your child’s progress, the curriculum, and general information concerning the Nursery. If at any stage throughout the year you have any worries or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.

School Ethos
The ethos of Holy Trinity Nursery School is to foster the development of the early years child with the focus on allowing the child to learn without experiencing a sense of failure. We aim to allow the pre-school child to experience success and develop a positive attitude to learning. A copy of the Nursery Pastoral Care and Safeguarding Policy is available from Nursery staff. Our mission statement, ‘Parents as Partners,’ encompasses the whole Nursery family.
Nursery education provides a safe environment where children are encouraged and can develop their self-esteem and self-control. They are given opportunities to work alone or in groups, to develop concentration and a variety of skills and competencies. Nursery education gives children the opportunity to become involved in play in a safe and controlled environment. It allows each child to progress at his or her own rate and does not pressurise a child into acquiring a set of skills or particular knowledge. Children are encouraged to use their senses to explore and investigate. They are encouraged to express thoughts, feelings and opinions and to recognise and value contributions made by other children. Nursery staff give children periods of time for learning through sustained involvement in play with appropriate interaction. The Nursery curriculum aims to meet children’s physical, social and emotional needs. It challenges and stimulates them and is broad and balanced to allow them to act independently and to make choices. Nursery education helps children towards a better start in their educational careers and life.
